Learn how to protect children from violence, exploitation, and neglect through law, policy, and practice in a human rights framework.
International Human Rights Law
All over the world, children are at risk of violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect. Conflicts and natural disasters have forced millions to flee their homes and face the dangers of migration and displacement. Commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking, child labor, and child marriage are complex in many countries. Children and adolescents at risk need to exercise their rights to protect themselves from harm and ensure their full development.
This course will teach you the causes and consequences of failing to support children. You will consider the strategies, international laws, standards, and resources needed to protect all children. You will be able to link child rights frameworks and approaches to the work of policymakers, lawyers, health professionals, educators, law enforcement, and social workers. Learners will learn how to ensure child support and apply child support strategies in their work.
